The colour of the car is one of the factors that attract people’s attention, lift their spirits, create aesthetics, and give a car a cutting edge for resale and maintenance. The specialists of Maxim E-hailing analysed the data on the company’s partner-drivers, including the most common names, age, and brands and colors of cars used for e-hailing.
The most preferred car color turned out to be white, with 31% of all vehicles. Partner-drivers opt for it because it conceals dirt, dust, and tiny scratches. Cars painted white also reflect heat effectively, keeping them cooler for longer. Next on the list is silver with 27%. The silver color provides a shinier finish than grey and is excellent when it comes to hiding dirt and blemishes. With its exclusive and stylish look, black takes third place with 19%. Next comes grey with 15%: the shade easily conceals dirt, dust and minor damage. Rounding out the list is blue with 8%.
“From the above color list, I’m in the minority, that is, I drive a blue car. The reason for my choice is that I like the color blue. Moreover, it’s more relaxing and easy to recognize. Most of my passengers say that blue cars are very easy to recognize and they can spot me from far away,” says one of Maxim's partner-drivers, Farhah Wahida, 27 years old.
As for the most popular names of partner-drivers in Malaysia, number one is Muhammad, following by Abdul and Nur.
Fifty-six percent of partner-drivers are aged between 21 and 35 years old.. This is the the age when everyone works hard to earn money. Next is the 36–45 age group with 26%; for most of the partner-drivers of this age e-hailing is a part-time job. And finally, the 46–65-year-olds take third place with 18%; for them, e-hailing is a source of additional income and a way to remain active.
Moving on to the top car brand, number one is Perodua, which is a local brand that offers the latest technology and affordable prices. Usually, most e-hailing drivers prefer Peroduas because of their low maintenance costs and fuel costs saving. Second is Proton, which is also a local brand. The specialty of this brand is creating stylish designs and providing smart features. Third is Toyota, a popular international brand based in Japan. Fourth and fifth places go to Honda and Mitsubishi, respectively.
“I drive a Perodua Bezza, because it’s very efficient as an e-hailing car. I spend most of the day driving because I’m a full-time Maxim partner-driver. Bezza is a very economical car: it has low maintenance costs, it’s fuel-efficient and equipped with modern technology, and you can easily access any needed repair or maintenance services,” comments one of Maxim’s partner-drivers, Sufyaan Yazi, 32 years old.
All the data collected by the Maxim specialists had been provided during the partner-driver registration process in their mobile application and in the regular monthly updates. All partner-drivers are required to provide such information as licenses, insurance, car type, color, and the picture of the car in the application.
This regular inspection is part of the company’s effort to ensure quality of the service for its users.
All the shared data suggests that the passengers of Maxim E-hailing are very likely to get a partner-driver named Muhammad, aged between 21 and 35 years old, and driving a white Perodua.
